Sofie Jugård Löfgren organizes  outdoor events, weddings, activities, skiinstruction, education, project management and travels together with her husband Crister Löfgren.

One of her major projects is organizing Fjällräven Classic, Sweden’s largest trekking event where 2 000 people run or walk 110 kilometers between Nikkaloukta and Abisko on Kungsleden (the King’s Trail) in Lappland.

But her home turf is in Jämtland-Härjedalen. Here she goes skitouring, alpine skiing or trekking with her family and friends.

“We have all kinds of outdoor activities in relatively confined area,” she says. “You can go to Åre and party and go skiing, or drive 40 kilometers further south and be almost alone on nordic skis in Vålådalen.”

Sofie Jugård Löfgren and Fanny Hejdström from Jämtland Härjedalen Tourism was the local organizers of this year's Academy of Sweden - Outdoor.

Jämtland-Härjedalen also gives you the opportunity to mix quite easy outdoor activities with real challenges, she points out:

“You can take a walk up Östberget in Östersund or take on a classic alpine challenge: the Syl traverse – a ridge hike that includes several of Sylarna’s peaks.”

Transportation is another plus for the area. “You can get on the train in Stockholm at night, get off at Undersåker and be on your skiis two hours later,”  says Sofie Jugård Löfgren.
